MY NEW EXPERIENCE

On the first of April of 2022, I had to go to Sekolah Kebangsaan Bangi to complete our School-Based Experienced(SBE) program. Well, now I am going to tell you guys a story about what happens throughout the week.

First of all, let’s start the day before I have to go to school. the night before the D-day, I was busy preparing all the documents needed to show to the principal. Printing documents, filling out the forms, ironing my shirt, and all other things that made me regret doing it all at the last minute. After finishing all of it, I looked at the clock and BOOMM!!! It’s already 3 am. Without a second thought, I grabbed my blanket and went straight to bed because I knew I just got like 2 hours left to sleep before waking up for sahur

A few hours later, I woke up from bed and started to prepare for the first day of school along with my other friends. The first moment I entered the school gate, I already felt nervous. It had been such a long time since I stepped into primary school. Fortunately, when we arrived, the person in charge there gave out a very cool vibe. We had been told to go to the assembly side before our briefing with the principal. After that, we went for the briefing and talked to the principal. The principal there was really kind to us. The briefing turned into something like a chat between friends. We were very delightful. We were told to use the library as our office since the teacher’s room was already full. We placed our belongings there and went for a walk to the entire school. It was such a nice school. The school was placed in the city but the vibe inside the school made me feel like we were in a rural area. Lots of natural elements and far from the voice pollution of the city.

One day, my friend and I went for observation inside the classroom. The class that we entered was the year 6 students. There, the students inside the classroom were so many that it barely had a path to walk between the students. While the lesson was being conducted, I can see how the teacher controlled the class effectively. The teacher joked around with the students like they were her friends. The students were actively involved with the lessons by answering the questions and asking something that they did not know. We also encountered a moment where the teacher reprimanded a student nicely when the student was not focused and disturbing his other friend. Just mentioning the boy’s name loudly and told him to focus, was all it took to make him listen. The teacher also did not leave out any students in the class. She called out the student’s name from behind, the front and the side of the classroom. She managed to give attention to all of them. The most amazing part was the students managed to achieve the objectives of the lesson despite the laugh and being playful until the end of the class. There were lots of benefits that I got from this real situation of teaching and learning process.

On the last day of the SBE, the teacher in charge met us and gave some important advice to all of us for the future before we leave the school. The whole week was amazing. It was really fun and an eye-opening experience for me.

THE END

The teacher I mention about earlier is Puan Hazlina. She was very kind and had been very helpful to us. Therefore, I have made a poem for her. u guys can read it and tell me what you think :).

When everything else was getting me down,
I'd come to school and lose my frown.
You'd teach me stuff I wanted to know;
With you, I learned; You helped me grow.

Important people are very few;
In my life, one of them is you.
Because of you, I got some smarts.

                        Thank you, Teacher, from my heart of hearts
